Ex-MI6 boss denies killing Diana

Well, I'm positively gobsmacked, especially after Mohammed Al-Fayed's compelling evidence.

I was expecting MI6 to come out with a full confession. Something along the lines of:
"Yeah, the fat Egyptian tw*t was right, he's got us bang to rights, we did it. And whilst you're at it, m'lud, we might as well get the whole JFK thing off our chests. Oh, and here's Lord Lucan's head. Now if you look round the back you'll see the horse I rode in on was Shergar."

What a fcuking farce.

I was thinking "What a fscking total and utter frothing loony that seemingly oh-so-nice Mr Al Fayed has turned out to be."

The Metro yesterday had a cartoon of a milkman chatting to a woman on her doorstep who's reading a newspaper. The caption underneath read, "Apparently Mohammed Al-Fayed's just implicated you in Diana's death."

The man's not stable. I'm sure of it.

He's dragged out a low-level vendetta for years, but couldn't do anything _real_ about it until recently. Mostly because, as I understand it, under French law he's potentially responsible for his employee's actions.

Like that drunk chauffeur that was knowingly allowed to drive them that night.

So for a decade - until the statute of limitations in France ran out on his liability as an employer - he maintained a low-level campaign to direct investigations away from himself. He never wanted the investigations to be too public though, because then his own liability could be centre-stage...

Once he was free from French law, he mysteriously stepped up his campaign. However, I suspect that 10 years of half-truths and lies have addled his brain somewhat.

Let's bear in mind that before all of this, he has been denied a British passport many times as he's deemed to be of poor character. Specifically he's a known perjurer, he's evaded taxes and been implicated in parliamentary fraud. He was a bad apple to start with, but he's now a deluded bad apple.

He's only human. He's done this to himself, and as such I have some pity, but no sympathy for him.
