Nooooooooooooooooo!

My pooter is deeeeed! Dead, dead, not alive, not functioning, dead, what do I do noooooooo! I came back to find it had left me a totally grey screen, and no reaction whatsoever to any kind of keyboard or mouse interaction. So I did what comes naturally, rebooted, and waited... and waited... and waited... and nothing, not a sausage, not a hint of working. Next I slipped the Windoze CD-ROM into the drive, and re-booted, and still nothing. What shall I do?! How the hell can I figure out what's wrong when it won't even give me a boot-up screen, a BIOS screen, nuffink? Hmm, maybe it's just the monitor that's shafted, y'know? If only I had a spare one of those. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I'm not convinced it's the video card that's at fault. Though I guess pulling it apart and putting it back together may be a first try. But seeing as right now, the power button doesn't seem to be doing anything, I'm not convinced....

If their is a short due to a loose card the motherboard will not power up to protect itself. reseting everything is the first step.

I foresee me doing a strip-and-rebuild tomorrow then :-( Hey, it'll get some of the dust out!
