Tales of a Trainee American

You may not have noticed, but earlier this week a majority of the "big banks" in this country launched the Faster Payments Service. It's exactly what it sounds like - instead of having your money "in limbo" when you move it from one bank to another, it gets there immediately. All very well in principle but does it work? Well today I found out when transferring some cash from my current account to our joint account. And lo and behold, straight out and straight in! Woo-hoo! Finally the banks have done something nice and free of charge that works.
