Here goes nothing

I've signed up with an internet dating service. A friend at work met his current girlfriend through the same site, which is why I've signed up with them.


I like to think that I'm a writer, sometimes, and my friends tell me that I'm a good one. You'd think, then, that I'd have a way with words, though, but as far as writing about myself goes, I'm useless. If you want to get to know someone, spend some time with them: take a walk, have a meal, have a drink, do something that prompts discussion like a film or a play or a museum. If you're after the life and soul of the party, then maybe I'm not what you're looking for - though I've had my moments, haven't we all? Neither am I looking for someone who tries too hard to attract attention to themselves. As I'm quite shy, be prepared to be patient with me. Experience has taught me that it takes time for the best of me to come out.
