Friday
Friday was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong day - I had 2 1/4 hours' flex to make up in two working days, and still have an extra hour to make up on Tuesday. A pub lunch, then home to an extended Civ session (3.30am... oops). Which meant I got up later than I wanted, and significantly more tired for....
Saturday
Ritchie and Jen's wedding in Kent. A haircut was the first order of business, but there was a queue so I had to wait 20 minutes before my turn. also had to pick up some dry cleaning for Alexis - apparently there were some stains they couldn't shift, but they weren't noticeable.
We then drove down to Upchurch for the wedding - a full hour-long church service, followed by 1 1/2 hours of picture taking, thankfully there was a pub next door to the church! The reception was held at the local golf club. Wedding breakfast was Prawn Marie Rose, chicken in tomato sauce, and lemon meringue pie. The band was playing mostly soul/R&B, not too good to dance to, really (I'd have preferred the band playing downstairs... basically a covers band doing all the 'classics'!) Good catching up with a lot of people, though, and of course the bride and groom were lovely etc. A thoroughly enjoyable day out, though I don't envy Jools having to disentangle Tux from all those balloons we attached him to. Hey, all we wanted to do was try and make a penguin fly!
