I went up to the hospital this morning, Alexis is fine (apart from being bored out of her skull - and she has another 9 hours' observation to go!)

I got back to find the car seat and base had been delivered, and were sitting in the downstairs hallway. I can tell already that we're going to have lots of fun with it - it took me a good 5 minutes to work out how to un-click the seat from the base! Next up, more fun as I try to install the base in the car.

Edit: Done. I'm not convinced about the seat, though... more a case of Alexis/passenger having to slide their seat forward a tad, I guess, to allow the seat's carry handle to fold down [Edit: or not, as I'm told it's best to keep it upright]. Other than that, it seems nice and sturdy :-)

I was advised to keep the carry handle up whilst travelling - it's an extra safety thing - if the seat in front goes back in an impact, the handle will absorb some of the impact. I'm not sure I've described that very well but it makes sense to me anyway

where did you get it from? They should show you how to install it. We got ours from Mothercare and they said we could go back at any point and they would show us again :)

Otherwise, many supermarkets have regular car seat fitting sessions in their car parks

Yup, that's what I said as well. It's like a baby roll bar, and is supposed to contribute to safety, especially if you're hit from behind and the carseat flies towards the back of the seat.

Took me ages to sort my nephews thing out when I looked after him for a day, it made perfect sense when I'd found the right button. But where they'd put the button made no sense at all :-(
