Just when you thought I was getting some momentum going, what with a couple of long entries in the space of as many days... it all goes quiet.
It's gone quiet because, frankly... it's gone quiet. Apart from a weekend playing bridge in Bournemouth (which I'm sure you don't really need to know the minuteae of... suffice it to say a chancy contract by a rude man on the last hand we played on Friday cost us a place in the "B" final, which we probably deserved), not much has happened.
Our bed turned up. It's huge, and comfortable, and I'm still not sleeping terribly well. Either that, or I'm sleeping more to compensate for sleeping less, and am thus still staying in bed just as long. Either that or I need a job where I have to be in by 9am, rather than "any time before 10am" as things currently stand.
I've also decided to cut back on my caffeine intake. Not cut out entirely, and not drastically so, but I'm not drinking any Coke at home, or so much at work. At most I'm getting through one can in the morning, and possibly one at lunchtime, depending on where I buy lunch (the sandwich place just across the street does really good bacon and egg sarnies, but they don't sell Walker's Thai sweet chilli crisps, which Boots do). This whole concept still needs to survive a weekend, or a trip to a pub or restaurant, but it's working so far. Perhaps I can also send alcohol the same way as caffeine - but again that will require surviving a trip to the pub, or an evening playing bridge with Dave.
Finally, I need to start exercising again, but late starts at work leading to late finishes means the swimming has lost out entirely in the last few months. I need to find something new, perhaps, that is cost-effective as well. Any suggestions?
