I recovered sufficiently from my bout of lurgy to make it to Tilehurst on Saturday for the wedding of two Mono-spods. When I say that their first dance was to the theme tune from the Teletubbies, and that there were colouring books and an anagram competition specially for the occasion, you might get the idea that this was a very individual wedding - and indeed it was! It was also good to see a number of people not seen in a while, in particular [livejournal.com profile] ghoti and [livejournal.com profile] ctrlfreak, who is looking quite thin these days - well done Heather!

The lurgy returned on Sunday, not helped by the stress of attemting to buy a TV for the bedroom... I need somewhere to put it (not on the chest of drawers, that's where my stuff goes, and if there's a TV there, there's no room for stuff... besides, it's off-centre), so I need shelves or a bracket, neither of which I feel confident enough to erect. It has to be 21", because anything else is too small, given the distance between where I'll be (head of the bead) and the back wall. And it has to be around 200 quid. Which rules out the obvious option of a flat-screen TV. Especially as I've agreed to purchasing a Washer-Dryer as well now. I need a TV in the bedroom, though, because when GTA: San Andrea comes out, I'll be a TV hog on the PS2.

The remainder of the lurgy was still there on Monday, so I took the day off work. I had planned to stay in all day, but ended up accompanying Alexis to the bank to open her own account (accepted) and a joint account (referred!). Tres bizarre.

Tuesday, I was back at work. I was bored. I went to bed far too late, but I did discover Ban This Filth on Channel 4.

Today, I stayed late at work and we ended up going out for dinner, to the Two Brothers fish restaurant at Church End. And very nice it was too - these guys know from fish!

It should be pointed out to the others that if we don't buy a washer-dryer, we won't be able to watch our existing TV anyway soon, as the drying rack will have to come indoors and it will block the TV for at least one of us!
