Saturday
Got up, had pancakes made for me (thanks hun!), headed into Manhattan, wandered around the Natural History Museum, went to the Plane-arium ("This is Tom Hanks. You may remember me from other mueseum feature presentations such as..."). Met up with Gavin & Michelle, queued for an hour and a half to go up the Empire State Building, spent 45 minutes up there, went for Chinese (mmm... Tiny Buns...), got pastries at Ferrara's (only a couple of blocks from the Chinese... damned shame that!), back on the train and had a doze before heading back.
Sunday
I was taken clothes shopping. Alexis attempted to persuade me that I'd like linen pants^Wtrousers. They're just not 'my thing'. I also found out that, of course, I know nothing about proper clothes buying. Cut? What's that then? Still, I've got a couple of new jumpers, a pair of pants^Wtrousers waiting for me in Bloomingdales (they needed to shorten the leg), and a couple of pairs of Levi's (though oddly, whilst they went up to a 42" waist in some styles, they didn't in others - or maybe they were just out of stock).
Afterwards, film (Blah Blah Blah Spotless Mind with Jim Carrey - good film, even if one of the very first things Alexis did was spot that the trains weren't LIRR, but some other network... mind you, I could tell just because the station that Jim Carrey was supposed to be getting on at looks nothing like it actually does - it's supposed to the Rockville Center, one stop from Baldwin, so I'd actually been through it on the way in to Manhattan!) then curry then home.
