First best friend: James was my best, and at times, only friend at primary school pretty much from when I got there, to when we left, and went to different secondaries. Last bumped into him coming of the cinema, ooh, 9 years ago?

First real memory of something: I have vague memories of a holiday in Malta when I was 2 1/2, or thereabouts.

First car: It was a Metro, 1.3l, and used to belong to my grandparents. It was used to transport a pair of dogs, for the most part, and smelt badly of dog.

First date: Not done dating. Ever.

First real kiss: Never knew her name!! She randomly grabbed me in a club, snogged me, then left. I was 19 at the time.

First break-up: None, so far.

First job: Part-time: worked for my dad from as soon as I could hold a pint of milk. Full-time: been in the same full-time job I started a little under a year after graduating.

First screen name: Eldar, and as this was in 1992, I'm claiming, I think quite rightfully, to be the original eldar on the 'net.

First self purchased album: Good question. Probably Pet Shop Boys Actually.

First pets: I never had pets of my own - it was my sisters, mother, grandparents who did that (rabbit, cat, dogs).

First piercing/tattoo: My body remains unsullied by such trivial cosmetic enhancements.

First credit card: NatWest Visa Premier, or whatever their 'starter' card with a limit of £500 was called. But please, don't talk to me about credit cards right now....

First true love: I'll get back to you on that one.

First enemy: More enemies than enemy, I'd say a whole bunch of kids at school. It was a running battle that lasted over a decade, and I feel like I lost.

First big trip: Probably my first cruise round the Med when I was 5 - big ship, very exciting, and I got my foot trapped in an ancient ruin in Pompeii!

First play/musical/performance: I really can't remember.

First musician you remember hearing in your house: I really can't remember.
