And meh. I'm running on empty... will a week in Devon help? Maybe. There is free babysitting in Devon. And no work.
I'm toying with the thought of going to see Iron Maiden at Twickenham. The first gig I ever went to was Iron Maiden, at the Torbay Leisure Centre in 1991. Yeah, they were slumming it in smaller venues. We didn't get much down our way - this was huge! Well, amongst the Torbay headbanging crowd, of which I was a fully paid-up member. I had to drive all the way to Cornwall (yes, across the border into enemy territory!) to see Alice Cooper a couple of years later. Seeing pretty much anyone else meant a coach trip to London or Birmingham or MK or wherever.
Maiden are doing a sort of 80's greatest hits package, which suits me fine... Number of The Beast, Powerslave, etc. I don't even have too big an issue with the ticket prices. What do object to is the booking fees and postage fees levied by the various sites that are now the only places that tickets are available. For instance TicketWankster charge £5.50 service fee, and £3.00 postage!
