Well, after that, the biggest question I have is: what was the point of Episodes I & II?
At least it knocks the spots off of the former two films - which isn't saying much. I'd put it on a par with Return of the Jedi, though, if only because Episode VI had those damned Ewoks in it to drag it down. Two of Episode III's best moments are visual throwbacks to the original trilogy - a scene near the beginning reminiscent of the Death Star throne room when Luke has Darth Vader at his mercy, with the Emperor egging him on to kill his father, and one right at the end which frankly is almost an insult to the memory of Episode IV.
The whole thing feels rushed. The story presented could've easily spanned one and a half episodes, and allowed more development of key plot points. Even better, it would've meant dropping some of the more useless bits of Episode II, and even better, less Jar Jar in Episode I. At least in Episode III the animated fishy one is relegated to merely tagging along, and crucially, says absolutely nothing - just the way we like it. It's back to the droids providing the comedy moments, and they do it as well as ever.
I gave it 7/10 on IMDB.
Overall, this trilogy weighs in at 6/10. A good - make that above average - ending, let down by 1 3/4 terrible films.
