Alexis has been kept in for 24 hours for observation (BP and urine); more paranoia on the part of the consultant and the obstetrician, I think, than any genuine concern. Yes, the cramps were very early contractions. No, she's not pushing, or at least wasn't when I left the hospital half an hour ago! The current prognosis is probably another 3-5 days, but who knows. Her mother will probably be coming over earlier than expected - I reckon she'll turn up on Saturday morning.
