I have a new (enforced) toy: an SPV C500. I'm still getting used to it, of course.
The plumber, it turns out, turned up anyway, and fixed the pipes. Another 350 quid. But, fingers crossed, all will be well. Calgon recommended to prevent calcium build-up in the future.
