Marshmallow chocolate biscuits

Tunnock's Tea Cakes
Mallomars

One British. One American. Both strikingly similar in construction. But only one can truly rule.

LET BATTLE COMMENCE!!!

I'm actually going home via the British Store tonight to get teacakes, rich tea biccies and baked beans.

I'll try mallomars next week :>

s'more

This is a word I have never previously encountered.

Are Mallomars veggie-friendly? Tunnock's Tea Cakes weren't, until relatively recently.

mmm s'mores!

(to make a s'more: break a graham cracker in half, so you have two squares. Put a piece of chocolate--Hershey's is best in this one, strictly limited case--on one half. Toast a marshmallow [preferably over a campfire]. As soon as it's done, put it on the chocolate, place the other graham cracker square on top, and squash down so the marshmallow melts the chocolate. Lovely yummy gooooo....)

Have checked the package and Mallomars are not vegetarian--the ingredients include gelatine. No kosher symbol so I'm assuming it's pig gelatine. (ickickick. Knowing the Jewish market for Mallomars surely Nabisco could've come up with a substitute?! They made Oreos kosher... [they switched from lard to shortening in the '70s but Oreos weren't "officially" kosher until a few years ago.])

Marshmallow Fluff, that other yummy American treat, is veggie safe though. So you can try making s'mores (and Rice Krispie Treats, etc) using Fluff. :-) Probably best to make the sandwich then wrap in foil and heat to melt it though :-)

Doh! One of the biggest reasons I want to go camping, smores. SO we can make smores! (that and the other more nature related camping things)

I've had neither so I'm assuming they are both pretty similiar and tasty in their own ways :)

I actually went to the link. I've had mallomars. They are REALLY tasty. We don't call them mallomars, we call them something else which I can't remember at this exact moment.

But not if you make them cold. If you make them HOT! You put them in the microwave for a few seconds and they are all melty and gooey and tasty sugary goodness!

Hah!
